What is the Positive Stop H BPV?

The new Positive Stop H BPV is a standard type H BPV but with Heshka modified threads and a newly designed seal groove. The thread modification allows the back pressure valve to sit perfectly in the tubing hanger and allow the newly designed D Ring to sit perfectly in the seal groove. No more over or under torquing your H BPV or H TWCV. These upgrades allow the operator to install the Back Pressure Valve or Two Way Check Valve perfectly every time, achieving a perfect seal. The thread modifications still allow the Positive Stop BPV to be run in all OEM Type H BPV thread profiles, no need for new hangers, and these can be added to your fleet knowing they will thread into the same exact female profile as the standard Type H BPV.

How does the installation work?

The Positive Stop BPV or TWCV is still installed with the same tools you already use but this time the back pressure valve will stop rotating once the seal positions itself into the seal groove. The installation is no more than 25 FT/LBS of torque. What's better? The torque required to remove this Positive Stop BPV is less than 30 FT/LBS!

Why would you want to use the Positive Stop H BPV over the standard Type H BPV?

Simple, as stated above the torque required to install and remove is considerably lower than your standard Type H BPV. This eliminates getting the BPV stuck from over torquing and squeezing the seal into the hanger threads. Whats more, because the seal is in the seal groove, it eliminates swelling of the seal into the threads under high pressure conditions. What does this mean for you? No more stuck BPVs!

The new two window cage design keeps the piston retained like the original Type H BPV while providing the operator an easy way to identify the new Positive Stop BPV versus its older counterpart.

Field Trials Successful

The Heshka Positive Stop Type H Back Pressure Valve has been run in the field for over 6 months and more than 50 times with a 100% success rate. Service Technicians that have used this BPV are now asking for the Positive Stop BPV from their asset management teams before being deployed to the field.

Sizes and Materials

We are currently stocking the new Positive Stop BPV in 2", 2-1/2", 3", 4" and 5" nominal sizes with a 4130 carbon steel body. We will be adding new sizes and alternate materials in the very near future.
